The Productivity of Deadline Work (Ok, and Procrastinating…)

Because I Said Sew

I’ve been sewing my heart out all afternoon, in preparation for a holiday fair this Saturday. I don’t have nearly the inventory I’d like, but it will be fine, I’m sure. Things have just been too busy around here lately to prepare.

Plus, I work better on deadline–especially close to it, although I’ll admit the stress sometimes gets overwhelming and is not ideal.

As far as sewing goes, though, and building my Etsy business and experience while permitting myself room to try new things, I think periodic forced deadlines might make me productive when I’d otherwise sit around scrolling through Facebook (and sewing brings me much more joy and satisfaction!). With my second part time job, Saturdays are now my only day off, so I’m hesitant to fill them all up, but I’m thinking that if I find one fair, festival, or market a month to do, I’d be regularly creating things, bringing in a little extra money, and working through my huge stash of fabric!

So here are some of my materials for tonight’s play time with fabric:

Can you guess what I might be making?
