Today E and I (finally!) received good news about the adoption process. B-mom had previously signed the open adoption agreement, and that was filed and accepted and all set, but B-dad hadn’t signed his, so we were looking at continuing with the lengthy appeal process. Today, though, the attorney let us know that she had gotten notice from the appeals court that they had taken the first step towards dismissing the appeal. Unless something comes up–which she thinks is unlikely–the dismissal should happen in about a month, after which we can set a date for finalization, maybe even this summer! E was sooooo happy when I read him the email. He has been waiting for this for so long! We’re starting to feel like we can maybe have hope again.
