This waiting’s not for the faint-hearted. As I expected, my colleague’s sabbatical has left little time for sitting about thinking about waiting. But now I’ve been to an adoption party. And now my homestudy is awaiting approval. And now I could be licensed within days. And now July, when we’re hoping for placement, is the month after next. WHAT?!?!
I look around the spare room and think, “there’s so much to do!” And then think, “And nothing I can really do until I know who he/she is, how old, interests, favorite color, etc…”
So I’m waiting. And, to be honest, totally and unequivocally looking forward to my adoption leave. Sabbatical coverage hasn’t been that bad, but it’s been a very busy spring and I could SO use a break…especially when that break comes along with a kid!
