One small step

I am planning on making the second bedroom in my apartment a child’s (the whole reason I made sure I rented a 2BR apt). Right now, since I moved and started my job within three days of each other, it is still full of half-unpacked boxes and items that I’m not sure what to do with. I’m slowly changing that. Today I took one small step to make my goal a reality: I moved the modem.

I had been worried about having my modem and router in that bedroom, especially if I end up foster-adopting an older child. I couldn’t figure out how it could be anywhere else, since it’s dependent on the location of the cable. Then I remembered seeing the end of a cable in the floor of MY bedroom. Today I decided to try it out. The fact that I’m posting this means the internet is working just fine from the equipment’s new location!

One small step towards welcoming a child into my home…
